In 2019 and in 2022, Clare Museum, the archaeological contractors TVAS and various local volunteers undertook the archaeological excavation of a house dating from the era of the famine.  The project was funded by through Creative Ireland and was the first excavation of its kind in County Clare.

Graham Hull from TVAS will give an illustrated talk on the finds from the site, some of them surprising, which will a give an insight into a community on the verge of disaster.
