Cannonball, one of a pair, possibly from the Spanish Armada vessel the San Marcos. Weighs approximately 4.7kg, in good condition though rusted to some extent. Objects were found protrouding from the ground from within the bawn of Tromora Castle, Seafield, Quilty.
Found protrouding from the ground from within the bawn of Tromora Castle, Seafield, Quilty. Probably dates to the Desmond Rebellion as the castle was attacked during that conflict.
