Buckle badge

Clare Regiment Badge

Clare Regiment buckle badge made from gold coloured metal. Rectangular in shape with raised image of harp surmounted by crown (Clare Regiment insignia) almost filling the space. The front of the harp is comprised of a half-woman, half-bird type creature, like a mermaid only half a bird. Across the strings of the harp is the number “86”. The raised images are held in place by loops set through the back of the rectangular piece and held in place at the back by two overlapping lengths of wire or metal.

This badge was worn as part of uniform by member of Clare Regiment.
