Clay Pipe, stem and bowl both in good condition, found at Lakeview House, Caheraphuca, Crusheen, in 1988. Embossed with the name of a firm in Limerick. The clay pipe is complete and the stem is also complete.
Michael McNamara found this clay pipe at Lakeview House, Caheraphuca, Crusheen. It had been found and left on a window sill by the owners of the house. Michael McNamara purchased the house in 1988, saw the pipe on the window sill and was told by the outgoing owners that they had found it in the soil on the property and that they did not want it.
In the photograph above, we have take a view of the pipe to show the stamp on the bowl. It indicates that it was purchased or made in Limerick, but can you read the words above it? If you can, please email claremuseum@clarecoco.ie and let us know!
