Green Scapular
Cloth medal, green fabric, for suspension from around the neck.

Rectangular cloths medal. Obverse: image of the burning heart of Mary, pierced by a sword and dripping blood, encircled by the legend ‘Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of death’. Reverse : image of full standing Blessed Virgin Mary with the radiant Sacred Heart. Green sting-like cloth attached for hanging around neck.
The green scapular is a catholic Marian devotion article worn to gain the intercession of the Virgin Mary in the wearer’s life and work as well as at the moment of death.
They were commonly worn in Ireland, especially be children, into the 1980s.
