Handwritten letter, copy of original, written by Patrick Hennessy and dated Limerick, 20 January, 1923; blue or black ink, joined writing, sellotaped around edged and across the middle and down the centre on both sides. Written on paper in landscape layout. Needs conservation.

Patrick Hennessy of Clooney, County Clare, was executed by firing squad at Limerick Gaol on 20 January 1923 and is one of the 77 from the anti-treaty side shot by firing squad during the Irish Civil War. His companion and best friend Cornelius (Con) McMahon was shot on the same day.
