Glove

Glove, left-hand glove of pair, white with beaded design, size tag on inside 6-2

Gloves came from wreckage of KLM Super Constellation named “Triton” which operated on the Amsterdam-New York route. On 5th September 1954 the plane made a scheduled refuelling stop at Shannon at 02.30. Some 35-40 seconds after takeoff from runway 32 the aircraft ditched in the River Shannon feet from the end of the runway.

The gloves were found by the mother of the donor in the wreckage of the plane. The donors family used these gloves when she and her sisters made their First Holy Communion in the 1960s.
