John Joe ‘Goggles’ Doyle was the captain of the Clare Hurling team beaten in the 1932 All-Ireland Hurling Final. He also represented Munster in the Railway Cup Inter-provincial competitions, and was on the winning side on four occasions. His medals are included in the museum collection.
He made several ‘goggles’ over the years to protect his spectacles which he wore while playing.
