Letter, on folded letter-size paper, from Patk. Moran, Corkalley Lane, to Ml. McMahon, 15 December, 1908. On thick off-white paper, three of four zones written on in manuscript. “Corkalley Lane,/15th December 1908/Dear Sir/Owing to reports/which have been recently/circulated through the/town that the Club was/to be closed and premises/and furniture therein/sold out, and the proceeds/of same to be retained/(after paying off any/debts that may be now/due) by certain persons/who allege that they/have power to do so,/under some very/extraordinary circumstances/of which only themselves are aware./In consequence of/those reports I beg to/inform you, that a/general meeting of the/members of the Club/was held last night/when it was decided,/that you were to be/written to and requested/to summon those/persons to attend/a conference which/will be held at the Club on next Thursday/night at 8.30 and/discuss the whole matter/fully and try to come/to some amicable/understanding with/the following, who have been deputed by/the meeting to attend/said Conference;/namely, Messrs/John Darcy, Patk Dunne,/Thomas Sheridan, M. Stack/J. O’Loughlin, M. O’Loughlin/and your humble servant./Trusting you will be good/enough to comply with this/request. Yours truly/Patrick Moran/(? to said meeting)/Mr. Michael McMahon/Maiville Military Road/Ennis.”
