The donor inherited the quilt from her grandmother, Maria Kenneally (nee Fawl). The linen quilt is made from flax grown on the Kenneally family farm, which was located at Derryharriv, Inagh, County Clare sometime during the 1880s. It was dyed with natural dyes.
