This long narrow book contains the names and addresses of customers who were purchasing items of credit at Bolton’s pub and grocery shop. The donors grandmother wanted to destroy the ledgers when selling the pub. Her son in law, Desmond McCarthy, took them to preserve them for the future. They were left to Karen McCarthy when Desmond McCarthy died. Karen McCarthy, originally from Limerick and now living in New Zealand. is a the granddaughter of Katherine Bolton, who sold the pub in 1985.
