Railway Cup medal, 1930.

Railway Cup medal 1930 won by John Joe Doyle.
John Joe ‘Goggles’ Doyle (1906-2000) played left corner back on the Clare Senior Hurling team from 1926-1938 and was captain of the Clare team that was beaten by Kilkenny in the 1932 All-Ireland Hurling Final.
Doyle won six County Championships with his club Newmarket-on-Fergus. He won four Railway Cup Medals for Munster in hurling between 1929 and 1934. The Railway Cup was an inter-provincial GAA competition.
Doyle won this medal playing for the Munster Hurling team in the Railway Cup competition in 1930. On that occasion, Munster beat Leinster on a scoreline of 4-6 to 2-7 at Croke Park, Dublin.
It was his second Railway Cup medal. He would win his fourth and final Railway Cup medal in 1934.
