This is a facsimile of an autograph book that was in the possession of Patrick Lynch, Kilmaley, while interned at Limerick Prison and ‘Tintown’, as the Curragh Camp was known to internees, in 1923 during the Irish Civil War.

He was a member of the Mid-Clare Brigade of the IRA which took the anti-treaty side during the conflict.

Entries date to between May and October 1923 and include the names of anti-treaty IRA from Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Dublin and Donegal.

The relative neatness of the entries is indicative of young men with plenty of time on their hands.
