Rotary quern stone, fragment.

Half of a top stone from a rotary quern, perforated. Rough surface on stone.

This rotary quern stone fragment was found at Mac Duagh’s Hermitage at Keelhilla in the Burren. It was noticed when water flowing down a slight gradient from a holy well washed away gravel and soil to reveal it. It was found by a tour guide while take a group of tourists to the site.
