Serviette, supplied by TWA for its passengers.
Serviette, white with a red band across the centre with T.W.A., dirty with a brown stain which may be blood. The reverse has a manufacturers label along one edge. Label on the reverse ‘Dundee Made In USA since 1898’.
Trans World Airlines first flew into Shannon in 1945.
Joe Hardaker was a refueller at Shannon Airport from the opening of the airport until 1968 and he collected items during that period. He had previously worked at Foynes airbase where he learned the technical skills of refuelling.
