Surveying tool used to measure a prescribed unit of imperial meaurement. Heavily oiled prior to donation and so detailed examination difficult until it is cleaned. Each link is just under eight inches long.
Probably originally used by the grand uncles of the donor. Both were contractors engaged in road repair. Found at the donors family home at Rylane, Tulla.
