The Little One's Mass Book, presented to Matthew Bermingham on his First Communion Day, 31 May, 1942.

Matthew Bermingham was presented with this pocket-sized Mass book when he made his First Holy Communion at St. Senan’s Church, Kilrush. After the ceremony, the children were taken to the convent dining room where they were treated to a beautiful breakfast. Coming as he did from a farmhouse, Matthew wondered at the shine on the waxed floor and the enormous size of the room.
The Little One’s Mass Book is inscribed inside in calligraphy with Matthew’s name and the date of his First Holy Communion on 31st May 1942. He had happy memories of his teacher that year, Sr Concepta Mary.
