Typed, from Laurence Olivier, Two Cities Films Ltd., Powerscourt, County Wicklow to John MacNamara, Esq, Clarecastel, County Clare, 23 July, 1943; the letter thanks Mr McNamara thanking him for his work on the feature film ‘Henry V’.

Filmed in part in Ireland in 1943, John McNamara of Clarecastle was one of hundreds of horsemen employed as an extra in the movie. The external scenes in the movie were all filmed at the Powerscourt estate in County Wicklow.

Laurence Olivier both directed and starred in the film, which was made near the end of World War 2 to help raise morale in Britain.
