Used by Martin Power, radio officer at Balligirreen in the 1950s and was originally from Inch, County Clare. His wife, Eileen, was from Lisscasey and they lived at Cahercalla when Martin died in 1994. He joined cruise ships as a radio officer after leaving Ballygirreen and later still settled in New York, before returning to Ireland living in Cahercalla. Martin was the donor’s uncle-in-law, and this device was found in his home following the death of wife sometime after the death of Martin.
