Wooden frame, painted white, with linen bedding and a muslin netting cover, dating to c. 1898; comprises eleven component parts, including parts of the frame which is stored disassembled; one linen cover has red laundry threads: cradle section, with padding, with two white painted poles for the frame in sleeves on each side.
This cradle was donated to Clare Museum by the local historian, the late Sonia Schormann, who lived most of her adult life in Clare. She was born in Kilcoole, County Wicklow and this cradle had been used by the her grandparents and mother when she and her siblings were babies. It was never used in County Clare.
